Edelmans lead the Way

Edelmans are one of the major Dutch suppliers of “Living Room” products for garden centres. Whilst in Holland in August I had the opportunity to go to their showrooms and look at the trends or 2009. One of the trends is that ‘bling’ or the platinum look is now coming into garden products, alot of kitchens already have platinum look on stoves, fridges and dishwashers. This trend is now moving onto garden containers and household ornaments. Edelmans are leading the way at supplying this type of product. Containers are also becoming see through and they have a range of glass containers. Coloured ‘grit’ for mulching indoor plants is also becoming fashionable in Europe, as you can see from photograph 4, they now have a display unit that should be situated in the indoor living department. Finally the ‘nostalgia look’ is also back in, the traditional tulip pot, as used by the early floral arrangers of Holland, has been given a new lease of life, as can be seen in photograph 5.
