Click and Collect

Many of my presentations at present are based on the Bricks and Clicks strategies retailers need to be aware of. If bricks retailers do not get into clicks strategies they may have an uncertain future. “Click and Collect” is one of the strategies that need to be considered by retailers. It is therefore interesting to read in the Thursday September 8th edition of the Daily Mail in the UK that Amazon.com are moving in a new direction. “Buy Online and pick up from your Locker” is the headline to an article written in the Business section. Amazon.com are setting up lockers where consumers can collect their online ordered products. The “Click and Collect “ scheme is aimed at providing consumers flexibility as many consumers are not at home when deliveries are made. The Lockers in the UK will be in shopping malls whilst in the USA they are being placed in 7-Eleven stores. Soon consumers will see post office style lockers with compartments where they will have a password to collect their goods This is another example of how “Bricks and Clicks” retailing is developing.
