Green Profit caught up with Monroviaï¿½s chief sales and marketing officer Bob Smiland, who played a leading role in developing the boutique concept, for an exclusive look into the program. ï¿½The basic concept is to sell plants by brand, not lined up by botanical name,ï¿½ Bob says. ï¿½Branding has been the dominant success of independent businesses in other industries.ï¿½ The company chose to roll the concept out at Armstrongï¿½s due to their locations and desire to work with Monrovia, he says.
