Colour Trends

A reader of our newsletter, Andre from the Mica group in South Africa has suggested we provide a regular update on colour trends to help our readers. Thanks for the idea. Colour trends go with seasons, but tend to keep to the same patterns around the world. In gardening the purples seem to be a standard colour trend in flower colour, with hot pink keeping its position as the statement colour, especially with indoor plants. In general colour trends at present, its back to nature that is in vogue. This means in interior decoration the leading colours are: Creams and colour tinted creams, these colours are popular in bathrooms Strong red, grey and greens in the kitchen Rustic browns, greys and greens to provide a heritage look in living rooms and exteriors Blues are coming back Plascon in South Africa are one of the leaders in this trend.
