Save the world with coffee
Chris O’Conner from the Australian Nursery Association alerted me to this great promotion concerning the recycling of Nespresso capsules as a promotion activity.
TerraCycle Australia invite florists, garden centres and nurseries to participate in a free and easy-to-operate environmental program initiated by the pioneer of portioned coffee, Nespresso Australia.
TerraCycle, an internationally recognised recycling pioneer launched in Australia in 2014. Worldwide, they have diverted over 2.6 billion pieces of waste from landfills and paid over (US)$9 million to charities and schools for participating in our free recycling programs.
The Nespresso Coffee Capsule Brigade encourages consumers to recycle their used capsules at no cost to the consumer or retailer. Participating retailers host collection drop off boxes for customers to deposit used Nespresso coffee capsules. These are then collected in Australia by Australia Post and shipped to TerraCycle to be recycled.
To get started retailers need to :
- Sign Up: to host a collection box as part of the Nespresso Coffee Capsule Brigade
- Collect and benefit: Collection drop off boxes and an information kit are delivered to the florist, garden centre or nursery.
- Promotion: Once collection boxes are setup, contact TerraCycle to start promotion. TerraCycle work with the retailer to help promote in the local community. They provide communication materials and local PR support.
